Measurement of high frequency electrical transfer impedances from biological tissues
Introduction: Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a non-invasive method for characterising human tissue. Because currents will pass either around or through cells depending on the frequency, EIS can be used to observe the structure and arrangement of cells. EIS has been used to identify precancerous changes in the oesophagus and cervix [1]. Many of the precancerous changes in tissue conc...
متن کاملFractional Adaptive Control for a Fractional-order Dc Electrical Drive
The major contribution of this paper is to introduce the fractional calculus used to develop a fractional-order model for the DC electrical drive and, based on it, to design a fractional adaptive controller. In such a context, two modifications of the conventional Model Reference Adaptive Control theory are presented. Based on simulation results obtained in Matlab/ Simulink, the benefits of fra...
متن کاملSingular fractional linear systems and electrical circuits
A new class of singular fractional linear systems and electrical circuits is introduced. Using the Caputo definition of the fractional derivative, the Weierstrass regular pencil decomposition and the Laplace transformation, the solution to the state equation of singular fractional linear systems is derived. It is shown that every electrical circuit is a singular fractional system if it contains...
متن کاملImpedances of Tevatron Separators
The impedances of the Tevatron separators are revisited and are found to be negligibly small in the few hundred MHz region, except for resonances at 22.5 MHz. The latter are contributions from the power cables which may drive head-tail instabilities if the bunch is long enough.
